Finally

Mark Ashley Harbertson was born today at 1:43 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. and measured 21 3/4 in. Cathi did great and both she and Mark are resting and doing well. Here are some pictures of our new addition. We'll post some better ones soon.

Pregnant + Bowling = 165

We decided to go bowling with the Judds and the Blooms last Friday, despite me being about 39 weeks. I mean, what's the worst that could happen---I'd go into labor? I WISH! Anyway, we forgot our camera, but Amy brought hers, so if you want to see a more recent picture of me, go here. I'm 'LEFTY' on the score board. The first game I got something like an 85 (the worst game I've had in at least 10 years). And that's only because in the 10th frame I discovered that if I stopped trying to bend over all together and just kind of heaved the ball at the pins, I was a lot better. Needless to say, after that discovery, I started bowling a lot better. Sad that it took me being large and immobile to get the first Turkey in my life. Don't worry; I doubt I'll get a score like that again...well, maybe at least until the next kid.

Getting Ready

With only a week to go, we're just about ready. Finally!! It's been quite the process. So, if he wants to come tomorrow, I'm game. Well, really, I'm more than game. I've reached that point where the fear of being a parent no longer outweighs the discomfort of being pregnant. I even went out and found a new pair of running shoes today and am very excited to use them. I may even bring out my normal set of clothes this week. Yeah! As much as I love the few maternity clothes I have, I'd like to have more than 7 or 8 shirts to choose from. I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to look forward to the little things to help me make it through the days.

I had two great baby showers during the last few weeks. One was with a number of girls from my ward and the other was with my work. Both were very nice and despite me not liking to be the center of attention, I still enjoyed it. I only have pictures of my work shower right now, so here's one of my friend Jackie and me. She and Judy (one of my bosses) organized the shower. Jackie just started working for the department in November. I work at two different offices, but when I was at the Mt. Washington location, our offices were across the hall from each other until recently. I'm going to miss seeing her and everyone else at the office every week. I'll still be working for the department, but it won't require me to go in to the office very often anymore. I'll have to convince them to meet me for lunch sometimes.

Bryce is doing well; there's not much to report. He's excited for the baby to come. He does have a test scheduled for Monday, Feb 23, so we're hoping our little guy decides to join us sooner than later. I've had some contractions and am making progress. I go in again on Wednesday so we'll see what the doctor says.
Hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day.
